About the Leaders' Summit
The GARE Leaders' Summit is a multi-day, in-person convening for experienced racial equity practitioners and racial justice thought leaders from GARE member jurisdictions. The gathering is an interactive space to share ideas and strategies drawn from best and promising practices for building a just, multi-racial democracy.
The purpose of the Leaders' Summit is to support:
Visioning.
Create space for experienced practitioners to collectively define a desired future state and engage in creative thought partnership with peers and national racial justice leaders on long-term strategy and direction.
Collective impact.
Build and strengthen structures for seasoned racial equity practitioners across the GARE network to collaborate, align efforts, and exert broad influence across jurisdictions so that all families and communities live long, healthy, joyful lives, no matter their race, class, or zip code.
Shared learning and exchange.
Support peer learning focused on government efforts to combat systemic racism and addressing the structures, policies, and practices contributing to disparities and inequities, with emphasis on generating ideas and insights that can be adapted and tested across jurisdictions.
Critical connections and relationships.
Build practitioner connections across the GARE network to foster ongoing collaboration and partnerships.
