In 2023, City of Louisville worked with tenant organizations and residents of historically Black neighborhoods to design the City's Anti-Displacement Law. This law blocks government resources from supporting residential development without housing that is affordable for households in the neighborhood a development is proposed. The law also establishes a Louisville Metro Anti-Displacement Commission. The law also prioritizes down payment assistance, home repair, and small business assistance to residents who have experienced discrimination by the City. City of Lousiville maintains a site outlining their Anti-Displacement Strategies.
