Tompkins County is a college town community located in Central New York. As a community we pride ourselves on the various ways we are diverse and inclusive, yet we have a long way to go to fully infuse diversity into our workforce. We are committed to bettering our workplace climate, which we monitor through our Workforce Climate Survey, and realize we have many opportunities for improvement. As a result of our Climate Survey work five employee led teams were formed to review our organizational values, performance evaluations, communication practices, on-boarding and engagement experiences, and diversity & inclusion initiatives. Our Diversity and Inclusion Infusion team believes that the next steps for our D&I work is to appoint a Chief Equity andDiversity Officer to continue the work of the Climate Survey and the legislative committee.
