GARE Members and Workforce Development Practitioners,
Vice President of Research Dominique Apollon will discuss findingsfrom Race Forward’s new study (Beyond Training and the “Skills Gap” – Research and Recommendations for Racially Equitable Communications in Workforce Development) on the media’s framing of jobs and workforce development in the expanding fields of technology and healthcare. He will provide contrasting examples of the individualist framing that dominates, and of the more “systemically aware” coverage needed to build collective responsibility for more racially equitable outcomes. He will also share communications and organizational practice recommendations for the field of workforce development.
Webinar participant questions will be welcomed.
