GARE Midwest Regional Convening

Overview

GARE cohort participants, GARE members and jurisdictions that are interested in learning how to achieve racial equity outcomes are invited to attend The GARE Midwest Regional Convening.  The convening occurs October 2 in Madison, WI at the Madison Public Library, 201 West Mifflin Street, Rooms 301 and 302.  Doors open at 9 am and activities adjourn at 5:00pm.  Lodging is available at Best Western Inn on the Park, 22 South Carroll Street.  The convening occurs a day in advance of the YWCA of Madison Racial Justice Summit, providing you with an opportunity to attend that event (separate registration required).

The Midwest Regional Convening will feature

• A plenary session and keynote address
• GARE Racial Equity 101 training
• GARE subject area meetings
• Presentations and workshops on what’s working led by GARE cohort participants, members and staff
• Lunch and Learn exchanges
• Sessions devoted to Workforce Equity problem-solving and strategizing
• An opportunity to get to meet and exchange our challenges and successes with colleagues in an informal social setting

Costs 

Participant fees are anticipated to be $30.00 for GARE member jurisdictions and $100.00 for nonmembers. These fees will be used to pay for meals and reproduction costs. Lodging and travel costs are the responsibility of attendees. Click here for registration information.
