Last moth, GARE had an amazing gathering and movement building experience in Albuquerque, New Mexico!
We began our largest membership meeting to date by honoring the indigenous ground we were standing on, and were welcomed by the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center with a beautiful opening ceremony. Check out our first look photos on Facebook!
We had over 500 people in attendance from over 100 jurisdictions across the country. The meeting had more than 50 member-led breakout sessions, 15 networking sessions, a dozen Equity Action Labs, and regional caucuses, in addition to keynotes and plenary panels. The GARE network is now pushing up on 140 member jurisdictions – all working towards racial equity in their departments, institutions, and policies.
GARE is grateful to our planning collaborators, philanthropic partners, the wonderful host committee in Albuquerque, and everyone’s commitment to creating a government that works for all communities.
