Maria Martinez is the Project Associate for Government Alliance on Race & Equity (GARE), a core program of the new Race Forward. The new Race Forward is the union of two leading racial justice non-profit organizations: Race Forward and Center for Social Inclusion (CSI). Maria’s work is focused on Racial Equity Here, a joint project of Living Cities and GARE.
Maria attended George Mason University, and previously worked for the Georgia House Democratic Caucus as their Deputy Director of Caucus Services. During her time with the Democratic Party, Maria worked on and lobbied for government responsibility, economic security, women’s rights, and educational opportunity for all of Georgia’s citizens.
Maria understands the importance that government structures play in achieving racial equity and is excited about the opportunity to work with the new Race Forward to make racial equity a reality.
